Enoch Chapter 7

Title: Another Life: Enoch  Chapter 7
Characters: Enoch/Chandir/Wryn
Series: Another Life

Chandir and Wryn could easily follow the trail the women left as they'd gone through the wooded area. They followed the trail out of the woods into a meadow. Chandir saw them first.  The four women sharing a bite to eat with Enoch as they all sat on a blanket.  Chandir could no longer contain himself.  He stormed over to the group and bellowed, "You were to bring him home! Not keep him all day, leaving Wryn to worry about him!"

"You were to stay at home," Astrid yelled jumping to her feet.

Wryn laughed sarcastically.  "You expected Chandir to wait patiently?"

Chandir thought back to the night before and how they came to be standing in a meadow with the morning sun shining brightly on them.  The night before, Chandir had thought his new partner had been sleeping, but instead, the sick young man was sneaking out the window.

Chandir had looked one last time at Enoch sleeping on the bed, and then he shut the door quietly behind him.  He clenched his jaws as he watched Wryn collapse onto a chair.  Chandir seldom tried to dominate his husband, but he knew this was one of the times that he had to.  For Wryn.  For Enoch.  And for himself.  They'd let Enoch dictate the pace, and that was only hurting everyone.  They needed to take control and teach Enoch how to live.  Live with them.  Live as a submissive.  And most importantly, live as a Historian.

"Wryn, this can't continue. Tip toeing around what must be said is only confusing Enoch.  Hurting you.  I will not allow it to continue," Chandir commanded.

"Chandir.  Please, a little more time," Wryn implored.

Typically when Wryn talked like that Chandir's knees would grow weak and his groin hardened.  But now he couldn't fall under his fellow dom's spell.  Chandir refused to back down.  This was too important.  Simply, he stated, "No. With the morning comes changes.  We will teach him not to block the visions. We will hold him and help him through them."

When Wryn wearily nodded his consent, Chandir strode over to him, took him by his hand and led him into their bedroom.  Once in their bedroom, Chandir took his time undressing Wryn.  Wryn was almost as big as he was and Chandir gloried in Wryn's body.  The muscular body trembled under his hands.  He gently, firmly, pushed Wryn to the bed.   When Wryn's knees touched the edge of the large bed, Chandir pushed a little harder.  He followed Wryn to the soft mattress and covered his husband's body with his own.  They were both exhausted from worry and concern for their new sub, the physical activity of love making would help them to sleep and to reconnect with each other.

Sex between Chandir and Wryn took many forms; sometimes it was raw and bold.  Other times it was a show of deep emotions and devotion to each other.  Tonight's was something in between.  When both men had given and taken all they could from each other, they fell into a healing sleep. But in too few hours, they were woken by someone knocking on their door.

Quickly the men pulled on their clothing and rushed to the door.  Chandir was greeted by the sight of four Historians.  Kyra, a Historian who lived not too far from them, stood with her three wives.

"Sophia has had a vision which involves your new partner," Kyra said without preamble.  When Chandir turned to look at the closed door where Enoch slept, Kyra continued, "he no longer sleeps.  He no longer is present here."

Chandir felt the anger of fear rise inside of him, yet all he could do was growl, "What?"  He turned to stalk toward the closed bedroom door but was stopped by Kyra's hand on his arm.

"He's not there.  Let Sophia explain," Kyra ordered.

A tall, blonde woman stepped forward. "Historian Chandir, I've had visions the past several weeks of Enoch.  I've been shown many futures for him.  Tonight, I was shown, enticed, to find him."

Chandir wanted to argue, wanted to tell the women that he and Wryn would go in search of their errant sub.  He also knew that he couldn't argue with fate, with visions.  No matter how much he wanted to.  But he couldn't stop himself from asking, "Is he safe?  He's uninjured?"

A small red-haired woman pushed between the other women, and stepped up boldly to Chandir.  "Do you really think Kyra would have let us waste time coming here if he was hurt?" She scoffed.

"Astrid," Kyra admonished.  "This is his sub we are discussing.  He's in the right to be concerned."

"We are wasting time!  We should be with him even now. But instead we have to watch the big, bad doms postulate," Astrid said.

Chandir looked at the young red head.  Turning to Kyra, Chandir said, "Your sub is full of life."

"And wisdom," Kyra agreed.

Wryn stepped forward, "Astrid is right.  Go.  Go find Enoch."

"The visions have sent many paths for Enoch, but I think I know which one he followed," Sophia assured the men.  "We'll bring him back to you."

Chandir stood at the door, watching the women walk into the forest.  He wanted to question the fates.  Why send the visions to Sophia and not to him?  Or Wryn?  Chandir shook his head in disgust with himself.  He as a Historian of all people, should know that the visions are shown for a reason.  Those reasons were often told only to the stars.

"They'll bring him back." Wryn's assured Chandir.  "I doubt many could win against those four."

Chandir shut the door and walked to the kitchen.  "Our Enoch is full of surprises though.  His foolishness and wisdom is often at war within him.  I'll make tea.  I need to keep my hands busy, they are too anxious to find a target on our sub's back side."

"You can't spank him.  He's too weak," Wryn protested as he pulled out ingredients from the cupboard. "I'll make scones. I'm sure everyone will be hungry when they return."

"If he's strong enough to run off in the middle of the night, he's strong enough to go over my knee," Chandir argued.  At Wryn's look, he conceded, "I'll wait until I know for sure he is safe."

The men spent the next hour cooking and bumping into each other as they looked anxiously out the window.  Finally, as the sun brought a new day, Chandir's patience ended.  "No longer!  I will wait no longer."

He grabbed his cloak and stormed out the door. Chandir only took a few steps before Wryn was beside him.  At Chandir's look, Wryn grinned and said, "Someone has to protect you.  Those women will be angry you didn't trust them."

Stomping through the forest, Chandir growled, "It's not them I don't trust.  Our Enoch has spent his life protecting himself. He could hide from them and they would never find him."

Sophia's voice brought Chandir sharply back to the present.  Sophia stood and stated firmly,"It has been completed.  The vision brought us here.  Now it is time for Chandir, Wryn, and Enoch to find their fate."

Astrid opened her mouth to argue, but when all the dominants turned and looked at her, she decided to address Enoch instead. "Trust in your men.  And trust in yourself.  You have worried them.  As much as you belong to them, so too, do they belong to you."

*********

Enoch watched as the women gathered up their blanket and walked away.  What Astrid had said to him played in his mind.  Chandir and Wryn belonged to him.  That thought gave him a sense of power he'd never felt before. He'd have just as much responsibility as the two doms.  Enoch finally looked at the men.

"You like that, huh?" Chandir asked.  "That we belong to you?"

Blushing, Enoch nodded. Yes, he did like the thought of having his own power over these strong men.

"We are three," Wryn said.  "Not two and one.  We are woven together. But to be complete you need to stop blocking the visions. That's what's causing the seizures.  That is what is stopping you from becoming ours. They are a part of you and when you try to block them, your body is going to suffer. You cannot be a part of us if you've blocked a part of yourself."

Chandir's deep voice rumbled.  "Enoch, there is a thread between laughter and grief that shows us the past.  A thread between courage and fear that is the future.  Between the past and the future there is a thread that links us with what is now.  Follow the thread and you'll be complete."

The words were like ice water being poured over him.  He didn't want the visions.  He didn't want to see anything but what his eyes showed right in front of him.

"It's like putting a tourniquet on your arm, agape.  Without the blood flow, your arm dies.  Without the visions, your brain dies.  You are cutting off the life flow.  So, you have the seizures, the tremors and the black outs."

Enoch pushed against the two big men and stormed past them.  "Then I'll die!  I don't want them!  I don't want to see anything!"

He stopped when he heard Wryn softly say, "Enoch, agape, you've spent your life preparing for death.  Now, it's time to live."

Chandir was not so gentle in his questioning demand. "You would rather die? You would deny your heritage?  Your gift?"

Enoch swung around.  He looked up in to the large man's face.  "Gift?  This is not a gift!  A gift doesn't hurt so much!  It's brought me nothing but pain!"

"Pain?  Yes there is some pain.  But there's joy to be had in them too," Chandir insisted.

"Death.  Destruction.  Pain.  Misery.  There's no joy in any of that," Enoch whispered.

"Let yourself be open, Pais. All you saw was Earth's past, present and future.  Earth had done all it could, it was time for it to die so it could be reborn. All you saw was her death.  Open your mind and see what Gliese has to show you," Wryn implored.

"No," Enoch said. "I won't.  I can't."

He flinched back when Chandir stalked toward him and grabbed his arm.

"Stop, please.  I'm sorry," Enoch begged as Chandir started to drag him away.  He didn't know why he begged, that had never stopped a beating before; it usually brought a gleam of sadistic pleasure to the perpetrator's eyes.

Quietly, forcefully, Wryn demanded, "Chandir stop.  You are scaring him."

Enoch almost ran into Chandir when the large dom stopped quickly.  "What?  You are scared? Of me?"

Enoch could only shakily nod.

"Damn it, boy!" Chandir swore.  "Don't you know I'd never hurt you?  Oh, I'll take you across my knee when you need it, but I'll never hurt you!"

The blazing fire in the tall man's eyes and the fierceness of his voice, left Enoch weak kneed.  He wanted so badly to believe. To put all the past horrors behind him and live the future with these two men.  But he couldn't put all his trust into them yet.  He tried to keep his head down, he didn't want Chandir or Wryn to see the fear and uncertainty in them.

Enoch's chin was taken in a firm, but painless grip.

"Look at me!" Chandir demanded.

Again, Wryn spoke up. "Chandir, don't."

"Don't what? Don't be who I am?  I can't do that.  Not for you or for Enoch.  You both have to give me time.  Time to know in my heart that Enoch is here.  That I can keep him safe." At the look of desperation in Chandir's eyes, something opened up inside Enoch.  He heard Chandir implore,  "I have to keep you safe."

Enoch was shocked at the power and love burning in Chandir's eyes.  Yes, the dom may be strict.  He would always expect instant compliance.  And he would always love him.  Enoch just had to find it within himself to trust.  Keeping his eyes locked with Chandir's, Enoch nodded.

At his consent, Chandir took his arm again. Enoch let himself be pulled along by the big man.  Wryn walked along side of them, holding Enoch's hand reassuringly.  As they walked across the meadow, Enoch's tiredness dissipated.  He'd seen this meadow before.  He quickened his stride until he was along side of Chandir, no longer being pulled by him.  The three men walked hand in hand through the field; the sun bright and warm shining down on them.

Enoch's heart started beating faster when he heard the sound of rushing water.  He inhaled deeply and he smiled.  The scent of the air was cool and held a hint of fresh water.  Then right before him was a river.  He stood on the banks with his hands held by Chandir and Wryn watching the blue water rush past.  Fish jumped, snapping at insects before splashing back down again.

Enoch dropped to his knees, tears streaming down his face.

"What is it?  I thought you'd like it?  Wryn!  Fix it." Chandir demanded, fear evident in his voice.

Looking up at the frightened dom, Enoch smiled through his tears and said, "I've seen this. I've been here before."

"Yes.  You've seen this.  Not all that you saw was of death and destruction. You were also shown a future that would be hopeful," Chandir said, dropping to his knees beside Enoch.

As Wryn settled next to them, Chandir wrapped his arms around Enoch.  "You denied those, Enoch.  But now it is time.  Open yourself.  Listen.  See.  Feel."

Enoch was surprised to find that he didn't want to resist any longer.   With an instinct he didn't know he had, he let his mind see all that he'd denied before. Mists of red and white swirled together.  Blue and green vapors joined in. All the visions he'd blocked were upon him.  Flashing images of triumphs and defeats; heart wrenching sorrow and unimaginable joy; births and deaths; love and laughter.   Through it all, Chandir and Wryn held him tight.  He shook and cried; trembled with joy; as untold destinies were revealed to Enoch.  He didn't understand them all.  He couldn't tell what was the future or what had already transpired.  Lightness and darkness.  Laughter and grief.  Hope and sorrow.  All that was life engulfed Enoch.

Through it all, Enoch could feel the strong arms wrapped around him.  Holding him, keeping him safe.  And as the visions slowed and eventually stopped, Enoch felt strength.  Not from without, but deep within himself.  He didn't have all the answers.  He didn't know what lay before him.  But he knew he was ready to start this life he'd been given.  Another life in which he'd finally found home.
