Rainbow People

A comment was made to me that sparked an idea for the continuation of the Another Life series. The idea is that far in the future a group of people, Rainbow People, will be sent to inhabit the Earth. This is kind of a super big project for me so it will be slow going. But I thought I would post a few of the notes that I've started.

The Rainbow People

An eternity ago, a bond was formed between Father Sky and Mother Earth. Their bond created life on Earth. Trees and plant life bloomed and blossomed. Creatures large and small filled the planet. They flew in the air and swam in the oceans. Some roamed on land while other’s swung through the trees.

But one of the species thought they were better than all the others. They became greedy and egotistical. They took from Mother Earth. But they didn’t treasure all that She provided them. They lorded over the other species. But they didn’t honor them.

When Father Sky and Mother Earth saw what the future held, they came together one more time. They talked and an agreement was made. They would take a few of the species and send them away. And when all was lost, these creatures would come back. They would make the earth live again. They were the Rainbow People. And they would have a chance at Another Life.

The Waiting Place

Past the edge of all the universes lies the Waiting Place. There was where all the Rainbow People lived. They spent their times studying, learning about the worlds they would be sent to. They read about what had been, not what was to come. They were tasked with learning about past mistakes. Mistakes that devastated worlds.

The Rainbow People were matched to their mates by design rather than by emotion. They were bonded by the push/pull that gave life to all things. Each learned of who their mate was to be, but they only met once they were sent to their final living destination.

Once a planet needed a tribe of Rainbow People, a group of them would be sent to many places on that world. Groups of twelve or twenty-four would be placed around the dead planet. They would be given basic supplies based on the world they had been sent to. Books, tools, temporary shelter, and a limited supply of food was provided. Once there, they would begin rebuilding a healthy planet. (Carlos Magdalena book is one of them)

Animals and plants that had once inhabited the world would be sent as well to help populate the world again.
