Since Destiny's Refuge is stalled, I've been stretching my writing by participating in the #writingcommunity and #bravewrite on Twitter. I thought I'd share some of them here. A word prompt is given and writer's write a very short story (VSS) using that word.
Elden/Misham
He thought he’d taken every precaution as he perched on the edge of society. He was safe from emotions that battered his soul. All emotions except his own loneliness. Then the dark man from his dreams tipped him off the precipice. #bravewrite #writingcommunity #perch
Elden/Misham
Elden watched as Misham moved with grace over the forest floor. The empath was careful not to tread on the emotions left from others that had walked before. He raised his eyes to the stars. He gave thanks to the universe for bringing them together. #bravewrite #writingcommunity #tread
Elden/Misham
The cackle of the bird startled and delighted Misham. Living in a cave lined with MXene he’d not heard the calls of the birds and animals. Throwing his head back, he laughed in delight. Life was changing. He was changing. #writingcommunity #wordoftheday #cackle
Elden/Misham
Elden’s heart skipped a beat when Misham looked toward him. The Empath was an enigma. His eyes held a strength that was belied by the tremulous smile. A man with strength born of weakness. A contradiction Elden wanted to spend a lifetime figuring out. #wordoftheday #writingcommunity #enigma
Elden/Misham
Warmth engulfed Elden as the vision fell over him. He watched as the ancients of Earth celebrated their festival Samhain. Harvesting, honoring their dead, dancing-all amongst a large bonfire. As the vision faded, icy pellets stung his face and he was once again in the storm. #WordoftheDay #Writingcommunity #Anotherlife #Samhain
Chandir/Wryn/Enoch
Enoch collapsed as he watched the horrors on Earth unfold. His vision showed the violence, destruction, and hatred that consumed the inhabitants. The planet’s only defense from the greed of humans was to embrace death. #WordoftheDay #writingcommunity #AnotherLife #horrors
Joel/Teegan
Joel sighed as the juice from the sweet apple dribbled down his chin. A pang of regret speared his heart. Had they only learned to coexist with Earth the planet may have survived. Yet here on Gliese he had a full belly & a full heart. #bravewrite #writingcommunity #AnotherLife #coexist
Joel/Teegan
Joel stood in awe. Grey was the only color as Earth died. But here on Gliese, the changing of the seasons was the most amazing thing he’d seen. The foliage took his breath away. #writingcommunity #wordoftheday #AnotherLife #foliage
Elden/Misham
The empath fell to the floor. “You grew in love. It surrounds me.”
Eldon closed his eyes. Natsukashii washed through him. He vowed to give Misham as many good memories as his fathers had given him. #wordoftheday #writingcommunity #AnotherLife #Natsukashii
Astrid/Kyria/Sophie/Nica
Astrid’s red hair waltz with the moonbeams. Her smile played hide-n-seek with the stars. A word floated in Kyra’s head as she watched her love dance-livsnjutare. Kyra stripped off her robes and joined the celebration of life. #wordoftheday #AnotherLife #writingcommunity #livsnjutare
Elden/Misham
The pale light of the brumous morning crept through the opening. It didn’t bring with it any warmth. Neither did the sonorous echoes of the wind. Yet in this cave, with these men, Misham felt warmer than he had ever before. #wordoftheday #AnotherLife #sonorous
Chandir/Wryn/Enoch
There wasn’t a scintilla of hope to be found. Not in the poisoned water. Nor the dirty polluted air. Color had long ago left Earth. Enoch tiredly looked about. Even the people were grey in this world. He cast his eyes toward the sky. Maybe hope was living on one of the stars. #AnotherLife #wordoftheday #writingcommunity #scintilla
Chandir/Wryn/Enoch
Chandir watched the saturnine man standing on the cliff. Albric had never been overly joyous, but the loss of his two lovers had erased all of his smiles. Chandir sent a silent prayer to the sky. “Give him peace”. #wordoftheday #AnotherLife #saturnine
